Privacy Policy
God's Memo is a daily devotional app. Each day it sends you a short personal message that opens with your name, and it includes a Bible you can read and search. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
God's Memo is published by [Publisher name] in the Philippines. If you have any question about this policy or your data, write to [contact email].
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, the sign-in provider gives us your name and email address. We also store the following, all of which you provide or choose in the app:
- Nickname – the name used in your daily message.
- Delivery time and time zone – so your message arrives when you asked for it.
- Country – taken from your phone's region setting, to understand where the app is used.
- Push notification token – a code your phone issues so we can deliver notifications to it. It does not identify you personally.
- Favorites – the messages you choose to save.
To understand how the app is used, we also record simple usage events: when a message is sent, opened, or shared, and when a notification is tapped. These events are tied to your account but contain no message content beyond which devotion it was.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or anything from your device beyond what is listed here. Bible reading and searching happen entirely on your phone and are not recorded.
How we use it
- To send your daily message at the time you chose, addressed to you by your nickname.
- To keep your favorites and settings available when you sign in again, including on another device.
- To see, in aggregate, how many people open and share messages so we can improve the app.
We do not sell your information, show advertising, or share your details with anyone for marketing.
Who processes it on our behalf
- Google Firebase – stores your account and settings and handles sign-in. Data is held in Google's Singapore region.
- Expo push service – relays notifications from us to Apple and Google, who deliver them to your phone.
- Google, Facebook, and Apple – only when you choose one of them to sign in. Their own privacy policies apply to that sign-in.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as you have an account. Usage events are kept for up to two years and then deleted. Anonymous daily totals (for example, how many messages were opened on a given day) are kept indefinitely because they no longer identify anyone.
Your choices
- Notifications – turn them off any time in your phone's settings; your account stays as it is.
- Nickname and delivery time – change them in the app under Settings.
- Sign out – from the bottom of the Today tab.
Deleting your account and data
You can ask us to delete your account and everything associated with it: your profile, favorites, delivery history, and usage events. Send the request from the email address you signed in with to [contact email]. We complete deletions within 30 days and confirm by email. If you signed in with Facebook, removing God's Memo from your Facebook app settings also sends us a deletion request automatically.
Children
God's Memo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 and similar laws elsewhere, you may ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you may raise a concern with the National Privacy Commission. Write to us first and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top, and we will tell you in the app when the change is significant.
